There is no doubt that going through redundancy is a difficult and stressful time, with concerns about getting a new job, financial security and of course, doubts about what you have to offer a new employer. For some people being made redundant is what they have been waiting for; it means they can retire early or invest in plans they have long had, but for others (and this is most people), it’s a challenging time and can lead to feelings of anger, denial, sadness, worry, fear, helplessness and being out of control, not to mention the knock your confidence takes. However, with the right support and approach redundancy can lead to positive changes and a new way of life. Redundancy is a time to consider and evaluate all your options and regain control. Some people chose to move to a different company and do the same type of work, whilst others decide to go part-time, re-train or even become self-employed. There are a number of opportunities and it’s about looking at your skills and experience, your financial and family situation and your future needs. We can help you do this and move forward. Whatever your situation we can help you consider your options and

Testimonies From Previous Clients I genuinely believe my day with Clair made all the difference to my overall employability. Her advice on CV’s, interview preparation, application forms etc. was fantastic, but for me the best thing was that she helped me to see the value of my skills and experience, raising my self-esteem and confidence. I was successful in securing two job offers within two weeks of my consultation with her. Penny, Wiltshire Children's Fund. Barking & Dagenham PCT has worked with Change Works Unlimited to provide external independent support to help staff make choices during periods of career change. A recent employee using the service commented 'Clair was very professional, enthusiastic, encouraging and very easy to engage with. She tailored the day to my needs and picked up on main issues as we went, offering suggestions and ideas, (many of which I will and have already) taken forward. She gave two different formats for putting together a CV which helped you draw out ideas depending on how you were hoping to use them and demonstrated how you could use your current Job Description to assess your strengths and weaknesses. She also went through different sources and suggestions for sourcing jobs. After a difficult period at work, which involved possible redundancy, I felt drained and confused about my career. I applied for other jobs but I was not being selected for interviews. My confidence and self belief were at rock bottom. I knew I needed advice and a chance to talk through my concerns. I spent two hours with Clair and was able to talk honestly for the first time about my position. Clair was able to help me focus and highlight what I needed to change and how to starting moving forward. The process has been quite enlightening and I know I can now achieve my goal. JD, Lancing
